I've spent many years in executive and government roles, working closely with the cocoa industry. When the founder told me about this concept, I immediately saw its value and have been committed ever since.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about our products, shipping, returns, and customer support.
Contact Us
Where is your cocoa grown? +

Our cocoa is 100% single‑origin Ghanaian. We source from ethical, local cocoa processors in Ghana who work directly with farming communities.

Is your cocoa powder pure or does it contain additives? +

It is 100% pure cocoa powder – no additives, no preservatives, no added sugar. Just pure, single‑origin Ghanaian cocoa.

Do you offer international shipping? +

Yes, we do. We have included shipping costs in the price of our products.

Are your kitchen products dishwasher safe? +

Care instructions vary by product. Most textiles (aprons, napkins, placemats) are machine washable. The tempered glass cutting board and ceramic mugs are hand wash recommended. Please see individual product pages for specific care details.

What is the Cocoa Academy? +

The Cocoa Academy is our future training centre for young Ghanaians. Once funded, it will teach practical skills – from farm to table, including processing, branding, export logistics, financial literacy, and small‑business management. It is not yet open; every purchase helps build it.

How much of my purchase goes to the Cocoa Academy? +

A significant portion of every sale goes directly toward funding the Cocoa Academy.

Can I return or exchange a product? +

We understand that sometimes things don't work out.

For cocoa powder: Because it is a food product, we cannot accept returns or exchanges once the package has been opened. If your product arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours and we will make it right.

For kitchen textiles and other printed items: Every apron, napkin, placemat, coaster, mug, and cutting board is made especially for you – printed on demand only after you place your order. In consideration of the environment, we do not hold pre‑made stock, which means each item is unique to your purchase. For that reason, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on these made‑to‑order items. We kindly ask you to review product descriptions and sizing carefully before ordering. If something arrives damaged or with a printing error, please reach out to us and we will help.

Ruth Smith

I first visited Ghana in April 2009. It felt like home,  familiar, like Trinidad and Tobago in ways I could not explain. I returned again in November, already feeling pulled toward something I could not yet name.

In May 2010, Rita Marley invited me to join her work at the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation in Ghana. I came. When that chapter ended, I chose to stay.

Since then, I have trained young women in natural hair care and launched the Future Leaders youth program in Cape Coast and that work taught me what is possible when you invest in Ghanaian youth.

Now, with Cocoa Café Ghana Academy, I am bringing together everything I have learned. This booklet tells that story.

We do not ask for government funding. We ask for your endorsement to open doors, to lend credibility, and to help this model serve young people across Ghana.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
